Industrial and energy development policy is recognized as a key strategy penetrated in all processes of national development. In addition, it is always related to a mega development project with severe health impacts. As a result, this type of policy becomes one of the main causes of conflict in Thai society particularly when social context lacks of public participation process and evidence based systematically clarifying any potential impacts of the policy. Unquestionably, there have been many controversial cases around the country.

Industry and Energy Development Policy Network (IEDPN) is established with the aim to encourage people sector and the public to access and to produce various policy strategies and precise information especially the data link with Health Impact Assessment (HIA). IEDPN has worked in cooperation with alliance networks to support and to empower the meaningful participation of the civil society in the public policy process.

IEDPN currently plays its focuses on 5 main issues - 1) the promotion of healthy energy policy 2) regional planning for healthy Thai society 3) the development of SMEs with healthy dimension. 4) the promotion of Health Impact Assessment (HIA) under the umbrella of EIA 5) the promotion of HIA and Healthy Public Policy (HPP).
